About the Symposium

The Hong Kong Web Symposium Consortium is pleased to invite you to participate in the 2011 Enhancing Healthcare Education, Research & Practice Symposium as part of the 2011 International Conference on ICT in Teaching and Learning to be held in Hong Kong 11-13 July 2011.

The continuing innovation and development in medicine, life sciences and technology are constantly creating new and improved opportunities to prevent, diagnose, treat and monitor diseases and promote health. We encourage attendance and presentations from Biomedical, Bioinformatics, Healthcare, Education and Engineering professionals interested in the application of technology in enhancing healthcare education, research and practice. The symposium seeks to offer a cross-section of experience and views from healthcare professionals, administrators, researchers and practitioners.

Theme

The Symposium will include keynote addresses, paper presentations, workshops and demonstration. Paper/Power-point presentations are welcome on topics relevant to the theme of 'Enhancing Healthcare Education, Research & Practice through Technology'. The Symposium is dedicated to design, development, management, implementation, technology, and application issues in e-healthcare. The Symposium aims to help professionals working in the field, academic educators and policymakers to contribute, to disseminate knowledge, and to learn from each other’s work through cutting edge thinking in healthcare. The Program Committee welcomes basic and applied papers dealing with subjects within the wide spectrum of information technology applications in health, healthcare and biomedicine. Full papers should not exceed ten A4 pages in length. Both the title and the name(s) of the author(s) should be included.

Conference Publications

Selected papers will be published as book chapters in the ICT2011 monograph. Authors of the best papers will be invited to submit extended versions for publication in the following sponsoring journals:
